MAYFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio — June 25, 2009 — A new rewards program designed to help independent insurance agents in Pennsylvania grow their preferred business was announced today by Progressive.

Starting June 28, the Progressive Preferred program will reward independent agents who consistently meet a goal of selling an average of one preferred policy per week. To qualify as "preferred" the named insured must be a homeowner, with continuous insurance and no lapse in coverage, and all rated drivers must have a good driving record.

Members are identified as "Signature Agents" and enjoy special recognition, increased compensation and commission, additional Progressive product offerings and enhanced marketing support.

Signature AgentSM benefits include:

  • 15/12 commission on preferred Progressive Personal Auto and Personal Umbrella policies;
  • a $2,000 annual marketing allowance that they can spend on select marketing tools, including access to Progressive's marketing and public relations expertise; and
  • appointment to sell Progressive Home Advantage® and Personal Umbrella.

Participants also get an exclusive electronic photo frame for display in their office and access to other "Signature Agent" merchandise and recognition in select Progressive advertising.

The program is currently only available to Pennsylvania agents who meet specific qualification criteria and sign an agreement to their Progressive producer's agreement.
