First Cars, Now Toys — Progressive Brings Two New
Insurance Choices to Massachusetts Consumers
Progressive motorcycle and RV insurance now available
MAYFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio — April 6, 2009 — Massachusetts motorcycle riders and RVers now have new choices for insuring their bikes and motor homes. Progressive started offering car insurance in the state last May and a month later introduced boat insurance. Now, it has added two new vehicle insurance products to the mix: motorcycle insurance and RV insurance. The new coverages come just in time for the warm weather, when the estimated 150,000 bikers in the Bay State will start hitting the road and families across the state will be packing their motor homes for vacation.
Progressive motorcycle insurance is available for a wide range of bike types including Harleys, sport bikes and scooters. Coverage is also available for off-road vehicles including golf carts, snowmobiles, and ATVs.
Progressive's RV insurance is available for motor homes including conventional (Class A), camper vans (Class B), and mini-motor homes (Class C).
Consumers can buy the newly available insurance products online at progressive.com, by phone at 1-800-PROGRESSIVE, and through independent insurance agents.
"Progressive's motorcycle and RV programs offer unique features that haven't been available to Massachusetts residents in the past," said Pat Callahan, Progressive's general manager in charge of motorcycle, RV and boat insurance. "For example, motorcycle riders can buy Trip Interruption Coverage. It pays up to $500 for lodging, transportation and food if the bike has a mechanical breakdown more than 100 miles from home. The RV insurance includes Progressive's unique Pet Injury Coverage, which covers dogs and cats hurt in car accidents."
