Progressive Puts Down Even Deeper Roots in Tampa as it Celebrates
70th Anniversary by Planting 70 Trees in Cypress Point Park
Nov. 14, 2007 — Some of the best and brightest employees at Progressive's Tampa call center are giving back to their community today by helping to plant 70 large trees in Cypress Point Park. The event is part of The Progressive Group of Insurance Companies' "70 Years, 70 Trees" celebration in which Progressive volunteers are planting 70 large trees in parks in each of its six call center cities. The types of trees being planted in Cypress Point Park today include the Live Oak, Longleaf Pine, Southern Magnolia and Pignut Hickory.
The approximately 30 volunteers who are planting trees today work at Progressive in various roles, including helping customers buy and service policies and report claims. The volunteers were chosen to participate in the event by their managers as a reward for their outstanding work.
Progressive is teaming up with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant the trees. The Arbor Day Foundation is committed to creating greener, healthier and more livable communities by planting and nurturing trees.
