Progressive Puts Down Even Deeper Roots in Phoenix as it Wraps Up
70th Anniversary Celebration by Planting 70 Trees in Esteban Park
Dec. 5, 2007 — Some of the best and brightest employees at Progressive's Phoenix call center are giving back to their community today by helping to plant 70 large trees in Esteban Park. This is the last of The Progressive Group of Insurance Companies' "70 Years, 70 Trees" events in which Progressive volunteers planted 70 large trees in parks in each of its six call center cities, for a total of 420 trees.
The types of trees being planted in Esteban Park today include the Indian Rosewood, Eldarica Pine, Velvet Ash, Chinese Elm and Chinese Pistache. The approximately 30 volunteers who are planting trees today work at Progressive in various roles, including helping customers buy and service policies and report claims. The volunteers were chosen to participate in the event by their managers as a reward for their outstanding work.
Progressive teamed up with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant the trees. The Arbor Day Foundation is committed to creating greener, healthier and more livable communities by planting and nurturing trees.
