ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. — August 15, 2005 — Enjoying the Champlain Valley Fair this summer just got a little easier for members of the Vermont National Guard and their families thanks to Progressive's donation of 150 general admission tickets along with 10 VIP prize packages.

Progressive, the largest auto insurance group in Vermont, is working with representatives of the Vermont National Guard's family support groups to randomly select deserving families who will receive the VIP prize packages and distribute the complimentary general admission tickets.

The VIP prize packages include a family four-pack of tickets to one of the Fair's featured events taking place from August 27th thru September 5th. Events include concerts by country superstars Tim McGraw and Alan Jackson; American Idol's Clay Aiken; Blue Collar Tour's funny man Larry the Cable Guy; classic rock's Allman Brothers; disco fever favorites KC and the Sunshine Band and the Village People; along with an extreme motorcycle thrill show and the perennial favorite Demolition Derby. The VIP package also includes a parking pass for the day of the event, and a sports bag filled with goodies including a Progressive t-shirt and four water bottles.

"Since Vermont has the largest number of folks deployed overseas, per capita, we have many families missing loved ones who are away on active military duty,"said Cathy Wilton-Bransch, product manager, Progressive. "All of our lives are made easier because of these families" sacrifices. This is one small way we can say "thank you" and hopefully bring a smile to their faces."

In addition to the 10 VIP packages, Progressive is donating 150 general admission tickets for military families interested in attending the fair.

All fair goers, including the military families, will also be eligible for Progressive's daily prize giveaway. The daily prize giveaway includes items that help make people's lives a little easier such as: an iPod, prepaid gas cards, an electronic car starter, laundry service, or the grand prize — a $1,500 home improvement gift certificate. Fair goers can enter to win once a day at the Progressive Direct booth.

In Vermont, Progressive employs 45 people in offices in Colchester and Rutland. The Company is also represented by nearly 140 independent insurance agencies throughout the state.
