Company Teams Up with Lexington Legends to Make Military Families' Lives a Little Easier
MAYFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio — April 4, 2005 —This baseball season, the Progressive Direct Group of Insurance Companies, along with the Lexington Legends, will make military families' lives a little bit easier by 'taking them out to the old ball game' for a special event on April 9th, and to each of the 67 remaining home games this season.
"In the Lexington, Walton and Maysville areas, we have many families with loved ones deployed on active military duty," said Chris Skorcz, Kentucky product manager, Progressive Direct."All of our lives are made easier because of these families' sacrifices. This is one small way we can say 'thank you' and hopefully bring a smile to their faces."
On April 9th, more than 30 members of local military families will be honored at the Lexington Legends home game against the South Atlantic League's Delmarva Shorebirds from Salisbury, Md. Before the game, Progressive Direct and the Legends will salute the families by bringing them on to the field for the singing of the Star Spangled Banner. Transportation to the game will be provided, along with hot dogs and drinks.
Progressive Direct is working with representatives of the 940th Military Police Company's family support groups to identify the deserving families that will attend the event on April 9th, as well as the individual families who will attend each of the remaining 67 home games.
